Royal Manx Agricultural Show
Description
The Royal Manx Agricultural Show is one of the highlights of the rural calendar with a full two days of entertainment. In addition to the exhibiting of animals and equipment there are a wide selection of food and drink providers, and a huge range of craft and trade stands. It’s a celebration of Manx life and tradition that will keep you occupied and entertained for hours, no matter what the weather.
I was approached by Carol Kennaugh, the Secretary of the Royal Manx Agricultural Society, as their website developer had moved off Island and they wished to bring the job back to someone local. As part of the new website I worked on a new electronic ticketing system. This was a major leap forward for the organisation which allows customers to buy tickets online and be checked-in to the event using a QR Code reader. In 2021, we also introduced online entries and trade stand applications.
The RMAS also use my Social Media Marketing and Photography services during the show build up and wind down to increase the online presence and interest in the event.
Client Review
Engaging Callum Staley was one of the best decisions we could have made. Callum was tasked with making the Royal Manx Agricultural Society website more appealing, easy to use and more informative. I had an idea of how I hoped it would look and what I hoped to achieve. Callum and I had an initial meeting where we talked the new website through. I mentioned a couple of other websites that had features I thought may work for the RMAS website.
Callum just “got it”, he understood what was required and suggested many improvements and inclusions that we had never considered. The end product was far and away better than I had ever imagined.
I continue to work with Callum updating and improving our website and hope to do so for many years to come.
